| Stars Get Hard-Earned Win | The Los Angeles Stars picked up a win at Parc Cartier II, topping the Montreal Saints, 4-3. On the mound for Los Angeles was left-hander Paul Anderson. He played a principal role in the triumph. The winning pitcher was Anderson, now 6-1. He tossed 9 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 3. The third-place Stars improved to 18-18.
Gene Curtis, who is tied for 4th in the CA in hits with 45, had a direct impact on the outcome. Curtis contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the ninth inning to put Los Angeles up, 4-3.
