The Los Angeles Knights powered past the Seattle Thunderbirds, 9-3, at Thunderbird Park. John Kennedy was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once, to lead the charge. The Thunderbirds fall to 11-20 and continue their uninspiring start to the 1949 season.

Los Angeles used the timely hitting of Bennie Griffith to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Knights on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Today was a lot of fun," said Kennedy.
