Hawks Deal Thunderbirds 4-3 Loss
The San Francisco Hawks topped the Seattle Thunderbirds, 4-3, in Great Western League action at Thunderbird Park. The standout performance belonged to San Francisco pitcher and Savannah, Georgia, native Mike Milne. In 10 innings, Milne surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 5. He allowed 3 runs. Robby Grand closed it out for his 2nd save.

San Francisco used a clutch hit from Woody Stone to get the win. The catcher drilled a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Hawks ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said San Francisco skipper Billy Rose. "I can't complain."

For the Thunderbirds, the loss makes their record 11-17.
