The Los Angeles Knights had to overcome a fine effort from Dallas pitcher George Hunter to grab a narrow 4-3 win at Centurions Ballpark. Hunter went 9 innings and allowed 4 runs. Chick Pappalardo finished the game for Los Angeles and earned his 2nd save. The Centurions drop to 12-12 and continue their mediocre start to the 1949 season.

Los Angeles used a timely hit from Ernie Clayton to get the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Knights ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"We'll kick back tonight and enjoy this win," said Clayton.
