| Thunderbirds Jolt Green Sox, 3-1, with Late Rally | Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Seattle Thunderbirds and Portland Green Sox.
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Seattle Thunderbirds and the Portland Green Sox. Seattle won it, 3-1. Seattle starter Johnny Witt was in command. With the loss, Portland sinks to 3-3.
The game was at a stalemate until catcher Clarence Singleton came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Portland pitcher Herb White, he hit a first pitch sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Seattle on top, 2-1.
Singleton said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
