Wolves Win Nail-Biter
The Toronto Wolves bested the New York Stars, 7-6, at Dyckman Stadium. Hal Wood was one of the standouts. He was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. Toronto pitcher Lou Jayson got the win. He's now 1-1. Bill Chapman was tagged with the loss. Jim Laurita recorded the save for Toronto, his 1st of the season.

Harry Pomeroy drove in one run for Toronto. The 25-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the tenth. With no one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 6-6 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Bill Chapman. It was his 11th RBI of the season.

In postgame comments, Pomeroy said, "I think we gave the fans their money's worth."

Toronto now has a 3-game win streak.
