Eagles Go Down to Defeat, 6-1 | The Detroit Dynamos beat the Washington Eagles, 6-1, at Thompson Field. Starting pitcher Jack Miller was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. With the win, Detroit raised its record to 19-13.
The Dynamos got a big at-bat from second baseman Del Johnson. For the game, Johnson went 1-3 with a double and a walk. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 5th double of the season gave Detroit a 2-1 lead.
Johnson called the win "a lesson in teamwork." | |
