Whisman Excels, But Suns Win | Pittsburgh got a terrific game from center fielder Mike Whisman. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Los Angeles, 12-7. Whisman was 4 for 5 with a home run, a triple, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 6. The Suns raised their record to 18-29.
Pat Adair had a big 2-run home run for the Suns in the bottom of the second inning. With Los Angeles trailing 4-3 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a splitter from top prospect Hank Griswold and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Suns on top, 5-4.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Los Angeles manager Bill Morrill. | |
