Minutemen Dealt 3-1 Loss by Minneapolis
Minneapolis Millers starter Ed Power pitched a strong game against the Boston Minutemen at Hennepin County Stadium, leading the Millers to victory, 3-1. In 7 innings, Power surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. John Stallings picked up his 1st save of the season.

Minneapolis right fielder Hugh Pate contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 21st hit of the season and put the Millers ahead, 2-0.

"We busted our tails," said Boston manager Bill Freeman. "But we came up short."

The Millers, now 2-22, have not found much traction so far in 1963.
