The Kansas City Kings topped the Chicago Cougars, 8-6, in 12 innings at Cougars Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Kansas City first baseman Hank Williams. Kansas City pitcher Larry Rush got the win. He's now 1-0. Bobby Crooks was tagged with the loss. With the loss, Chicago is 10-21.

Charlie Rogers was 1-5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Kansas City. The 1955 Whitney Award winner had a key at-bat in the top of the 12th. With no one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Bobby Crooks. It was his 22nd RBI of the season.

"Our team showed some resilience," said Rogers.
