Spitler Helps San Francisco Cruise to 10-3 Win | Heinie Spitler made an impact in the 10-3 San Francisco win over New York. Spitler, who is tied for 5th in the CA in RBI with 17, went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. The Imperials fall to 9-12 and continue their uneven start to the 1963 season.
Spitler contributed in the top of the fifth. With a runner on 1st, he hit a single. It was one at-bat among others that helped San Francisco get the win.
"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said San Francisco manager Chris Beck. | |
