Barrell Slugs Stars to 9-8 Win | The performance of Ralph Barrell proved critical in helping Los Angeles beat Cleveland, 9-8. The Stars third baseman was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The win belonged to Red Richards in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Johnny Ogden took the loss for Cleveland. Ted Ferguson nailed down the save.
In the bottom of the eighth, Barrell put his team in front with his 5th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which came against Johnny Ogden, made it 9-8, Los Angeles.
