Saints Win at Home, 5-2 | Montreal turned a good performance from Nate Carr into a 5-2 triumph over the Cincinnati Cannons at Stade Montreal. Carr got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 5 hits and walked 5 over 5.1 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Gene Faulkenberry wrapped it up, recording his 1st save.
The Saints got a big at-bat from third baseman Andy Gilman. For the game, Gilman was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Montreal a 2-0 lead.
"Main thing is I want the team to win," Carr told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
