| Miners Collect 2-1 Win Over Suns | The Pittsburgh Miners did just enough to nip the Los Angeles Suns, 2-1, in 10 innings. Pittsburgh pitcher Stan Davis, in particular, had a standout performance. With the win, Pittsburgh upped its record to 56-44.
Gale Schmitt had a direct impact on the outcome. Schmitt contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put Pittsburgh up, 2-1.
"We didn't go down without a fight," said Los Angeles manager Bill Morrill.
