The home crowd had a good time watching the Cincinnati Cannons and Chicago Cougars get after it.

The Chicago Cougars beat the Cincinnati Cannons by a score of 7-4. Chicago left fielder Dode Caudill deserved the lion's share of the credit. Caudill went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs for the Cougars. Chicago has run its win streak to 5 consecutive.

Chicago third baseman Cal Randall contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a sinker to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 65th hit of the season and put the Cougars ahead, 2-0.

"This team is on a mission," said Randall, who is one of the clubhouse leaders. "I like our focus."
