Sailors Drop 10-9 Decision to Foresters
The Cleveland Foresters powered past the San Francisco Sailors, 10-9, at Golden Gate Stadium. Tom Carr went 3 for 4 with a triple, 2 doubles, and a walk, to lead the charge. The winner was Sibby Smith in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Davey Chamberlain took the loss. The Foresters have now won 4 straight.

Cleveland used a timely hit from two-time All-Star Stan Kleminski to get the win. The second baseman delivered a bases-clearing triple in the top of the seventh inning to put the Foresters on top, 9-8. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was huge.

"We've got a great group of guys," Kleminski said, "and we're having fun right now."
