Los Angeles turned a fine outing from starter Juan Tostado into a victory over the Montreal Saints at Bigsby Stadium. The final score was 3-2. Tostado got the win, improving to 9-15. He gave up 5 hits and walked 4 over 8 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Lou Walker picked up the save for Los Angeles, his 1st of the year.

Cotton Dillon dealt the Saints a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with the bases loaded and Los Angeles leading 2-1, Dillon, who finished 5th in the CA in triples with 12 in 1947, hit a first pitch splitter for a run-scoring single.
