Gothams Lose Late, 6-4
The Philadelphia Keystones beat the New York Gothams, 6-4, at Gotham Stadium. Al Coulter starred for Philadelphia. He belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The winner in relief was Tony Dixon. He is now 15-9. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. The Keystones saw their win-loss record go to 49-69. At the same time, the Gothams fell to 64-55.

Coulter had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a first pitch fastball from Jorge Arellano, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Keystones a 6-4 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Coulter.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Philadelphia manager Carl Ames.
