Samuels Helps Cleveland Outscore New York
The home crowd had a good time watching the New York Stars and Cleveland Foresters get after it.

The Cleveland Foresters topped the New York Stars, 16-10, in Continental Association action at Forester Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Cleveland first baseman Lorenzo Samuels. Cleveland reliever Hank Berkowitz picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Foster Smith was saddled with the loss.

The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Frenchy Sonntag came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing New York pitcher George Scruggs, he hit a first pitch sinker for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Cleveland on top, 12-10.

Sonntag told a Cleveland Daily News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.

The 7th-place Foresters have a record of 57-60.
