Foresters Use Late Surge to Win | Cleveland Foresters starter Ducky Davis pitched his team past the Cincinnati Cannons in 16 innings, 7-2. Cleveland, at 70-50, sits in first place in the Continental Association.
Cleveland used the timely hitting of Sherry Doyal to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the 16th inning to put the Foresters on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Doyal told a Cleveland News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win. | |
