Philadelphia Loses, 4-2, in 12 | Philadelphia first baseman Bob G. Murphy was sensational. He was 6 for 6 with 6 singles. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Los Angeles beat the Keystones, 4-2, in 12 innings. Picking up his 8th save was former first overall pick Whitey Stewart. The win has Los Angeles at 36-58.
Amos Peterson came through with a big-time hit for Los Angeles. The pinch hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the 12th inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Peterson said after the game. | |
