For the game, Parker was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. Jorge Arellano was the winner. He's now 7-5. The loser was 30-year old left-handed pitcher Jim Foster. The triumph puts Philadelphia at 56-40 for the season.
The Keystones got a big at-bat from first baseman Bob G. Murphy. For the game, Murphy was 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 10th home run of the season gave Philadelphia a 5-3 lead.
"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Parker told the Philadelphia Observer. | |
