| Down to Defeat Goes Boston, 3-0 | Pittsburgh and Boston got after it at Fitzpatrick Park.
Pittsburgh Miners starter Stan Davis hurled his team past the Boston Minutemen, 3-0. Davis, now 2-0, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 3, walking 0, and allowing no runs.
The Miners benefited from an error in the bottom of the sixth inning. Pittsburgh was leading 1-0 when Roy McGee hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put Pittsburgh in front, 2-0.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Davis.
The Minutemen fall to 6-13.
