Miners Fall to Keystones Late | A 4-RBI performance from the 1958 Whitney Award winner Buddy Miller helped the Philadelphia Keystones beat the Pittsburgh Miners, 9-7. Charlie Rushing, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 6th save. The Keystones sport a record of 16-23.
In the bottom of the eighth, Miller put his team in front with his 7th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which came against Hank Cook, made it 9-7, Philadelphia.
"I like winning," Miller told the Philadelphia Chronicle. "I may joke around, but when it comes down to it, winning is the most important thing." | |
