| Foresters Lose to Cannons in Walk-Off | The Cincinnati Cannons and Cleveland Foresters obliged fans looking for a good time.
Cleveland center fielder Frenchy Sonntag had a good game, even if his team did not. The Foresters dropped a 6-5 decision to Cincinnati at Tice Memorial Stadium II. Sonntag went 2 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Chuck Murphy got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings.
Wilbur Zimmerman was the walk-off hero for Cincinnati. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Cannons pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Zimmerman.
Cincinnati is off to a hot start at 2-0.
