Suns Win at Pittsburgh, 10-6
Fitzpatrick Park was the site for Federal Association action featuring the Pittsburgh Miners and Los Angeles Suns.

Gale Schmitt had a good game, but he could not keep the Pittsburgh Miners from falling, 10-6, to the Los Angeles Suns at Fitzpatrick Park. The Pittsburgh right fielder went 3-4 with 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs in the loss. The win went to Alex Vaughan in relief, making him now 5-0. Jimmy Blair took the loss for Pittsburgh.

Bill Burke had a big bases-clearing double for the Suns in the top of the sixth inning. With Los Angeles leading 5-3 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Frank Maxwell, who is tied for 9th in the FA in saves with 5, and swatted a double to center. It was his 14th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Suns ahead, 8-3.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Burke said.

The win puts Los Angeles at 35-56.
