Stars Paste 11-4 Loss on Kings | The Los Angeles Stars racked up a win at Prairie Park, bumping off the Kansas City Kings, 11-4. Harry Stout, who started for Los Angeles, pitched effectively for his team. Stout, now 3-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 7, walking 3, and allowing 4 runs. With the win, Los Angeles boosts its record to 17-13.
Ed Moore had a big 2-run double for the Stars in the top of the seventh inning. With Los Angeles leading 4-3 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from 24-year old left-handed pitcher John Jones and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Stars ahead, 6-3.
"I like our moxie," said Stars manager Charley McCullough. | |
