Kings Collect 5-3 Win Over Cannons
The Kansas City Kings picked up a win at Tice Memorial Stadium II, knocking off the Cincinnati Cannons, 5-3, in 11 innings. On the mound for Kansas City was left-hander Beau McClellan. He played a pivotal role in the triumph. McClellan yielded 3 runs over 10 innings to notch the win. He scattered 11 hits, walked 1, and struck out 9. His record improves to 7-9. Fred Myers closed the door for Kansas City, picking up his 4th save of the year.

Kansas City used a timely hit from 25-year old shortstop Bill Denney to get the win. The shortstop delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the 11th inning to put the Kings on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was huge.

"Our team showed some resilience," said Denney.

The first-place Kings have won 4 in a row.
