| Wolves Rally Late to Clip Los Angeles | The Toronto Wolves went home winners at Bigsby Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Arnie Smith. Smith stifled the Los Angeles Stars, enabling Toronto to grab the 2-1 win. Earning his 4th save for Toronto was Wilson Pearson. The loss makes Los Angeles 15-13.
Toronto used the timely hitting of Dixie Williams to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Wolves on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Every loss hurts," said Los Angeles manager Charley McCullough. "But this was a tough one."
