Cannons Top Cougars, 2-1
The Cincinnati Cannons picked up a win at Tice Memorial Stadium II, dropping the Chicago Cougars, 2-1, in 13 innings. Jack Meeks, who finished 5th in the CA in wins with 16 last year, was the difference-maker. Marco Middleton picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 8-4. Bob Allen suffered the loss. The 5th-place Cannons now have a record of 49-43.

The climactic moment came in the bottom of the 13th for Cincinnati. That's when Joe Case, who is on pace for 215 hits this season, hit a solo home run off Bob Allen to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.

"The house was rockin'," said Case.
