New York Loses, 9-7, to Cleveland in 10
The 9-7 Cleveland win over New York was due in large part to Herb Reed. The Foresters shortstop went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Johnny Ogden snagged the win in relief. He goes to 3-7 on the season. Russ Edwards suffered the loss. Lynn Horn earned his 3rd save in 4 chances.

Jerry Hubbs drove in one run for Cleveland. The 35-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the tenth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 7-7 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Russ Edwards. It was his 21st RBI of the season.

"We're not exactly playing great right now," said Bud Jameson, the New York manager.

New York has now lost 5 in a row.
