Kings Snatch 6-5 Win from Cannons | Kansas City beat Cincinnati at Prairie Park, escaping with a 6-5 win. The win in large part was due to shortstop Cal Randall. He went 2 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win belonged to Del Lamb in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Paul Williams took the loss for Cincinnati. Early on, the Kings, at 14-6, have played an impressive brand of baseball.
The game came to a sudden end. In the bottom of the ninth, with two out, Randall reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run. It gave Kansas City the 6-5 walk-off win.
Randall called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts." | |
