Chiefs Top Minutemen, 4-3 | Chicago Chiefs starter Charlie Bingham took the mound against the Boston Minutemen at Minuteman Stadium; and, when all was said and done, the right-hander led his team to an extra-inning, 4-3 win. Bingham got the win, improving to 12-9. He gave up 8 hits and walked 2 over 10 innings. He allowed 3 runs. Ernie Espanoza earned his 13th save, after closing out the game.
Chicago used a timely hit from Jim Richard to get the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th inning to put the Chiefs ahead, 4-3. It might've been his only hit, but it did the trick.
"That was fun, that was just good baseball," said Richard.
The Chiefs now have a mark of 56-52. | |
