| Gothams Pull Out Late Win, 1-0 | In a low-scoring clash between New York and Los Angeles, pitcher Red Blanchard was a difference-maker. The left-hander earned praise for his performance in the 1-0 Gothams win. Jack White, now 5-4, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. The Gothams sport a record of 34-52.
Had Curt Day not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Day hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the Gothams.
