| Minutemen Dumped, 5-3, by Pittsburgh | The Pittsburgh Miners topped the Boston Minutemen, 5-3, in Federal Association action at Minuteman Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Pittsburgh pitcher and Ahoskie, North Carolina, native Ted Coffin. After today's action, Pittsburgh sits at 62-44, while Boston falls to 46-57.
In the top of the second, Pittsburgh catcher Glen Sexton had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and one out, Sexton stroked a run-scoring single to right. It made the score 1-0, Pittsburgh. For the game, he went 1 for 3 with a walk.
"I'd like to pile on a few more wins before the end of the year," said Coffin.
