Cannons Whack Foresters, 14-0
Riding the 3-hit performance of the 1957 Kellogg Award winner Art McKinney, the Cincinnati Cannons stopped the Cleveland Foresters, 14-0. Jim York, the winner, is now 1-1. He struck out 4 and walked 4 over 8 innings, while allowing no runs on 7 hits. The Cannons, now 8-3, have hit the ground running this season.

Cincinnati used a well-timed hit by Jake Jones to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Cannons ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"Talk about a forgettable performance," said losing manager Jim Whitehead.
