Rock 'Em! Sock 'Em! Ham Blasts 3 Homers in Cincinnati Win
The Cincinnati Cannons beat the Los Angeles Stars, 14-6, at Tice Memorial Stadium II. Cincinnati first baseman Charlie Ham had an outstanding performance. He slugged 3 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring three times. The winning pitcher was former first round draft pick Jack Meeks. He tossed 133 pitches over 9 innings, allowing 6 runs on 9 hits. The win puts Cincinnati at 5-3.

Bonnie Chapin had a big bases-clearing double for the Cannons in the bottom of the second inning. With Cincinnati leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a curveball from Floyd Warner, who finished 5th in the CA in innings pitched with 235.1 last year, and swatted a double to center. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cannons ahead, 4-0.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Cannons manager Buddy Baumgart. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
