Suns Shut Out Chiefs, 4-0
Los Angeles Suns starter Grant Davis turned in an exceptional performance against the Chicago Chiefs at Wilshire Park, resulting in a Los Angeles win, 4-0. Davis, the winner, moves to 4-5. He threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 1 walk. The Suns now own a record of 33-48.

Bill Bell had a big run-scoring double for the Suns in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Los Angeles leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a knuckleball from Dode Hogan, who is tied for 6th in the FA in complete games with 6, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 11th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Suns ahead, 2-0.

"Grant pitched like a champ," said Los Angeles manager Bill Morrill.
