Cougars Lose at Home, 6-2, to San Francisco | At Cougars Park, the Chicago Cougars and San Francisco Sailors were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
Sailors first baseman Ray Rogan left his mark on his team's 6-2 win over the Chicago Cougars. Rogan, who is a two-time All-Star, went 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks for San Francisco in the contest. San Francisco pitcher Oscar Edwards got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Bob Allen got the loss.
In the top of the sixth, San Francisco third baseman Ernie Carter had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and one out, Carter stroked a run-scoring single to right-center. It made the score 2-0, San Francisco. For the game, he was 2 for 5 with 2 singles.
"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Carter.
