Foresters Score 6-5 Win Against New York | Cleveland Foresters starter Sibby Smith turned in a workmanlike performance against the New York Imperials at Forester Stadium. Johnny Ogden closed it out for Cleveland, earning his 2nd save. The win brings the Foresters to 6-4, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
The Foresters got a big at-bat from third baseman Jerry Hubbs. For the game, Hubbs was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Cleveland a 3-1 lead.
"That was a really good outing by Sibby," said Cleveland manager Jim Whitehead. | |
