| Cougars Trounce Stars, 10-3 | The 10-3 Chicago win over Los Angeles was due in large part to Dode Caudill. The Cougars left fielder went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Cougars.
Jack Gibson had a big 3-run home run for the Cougars in the bottom of the first inning. With Chicago trailing 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a slider from Dewey Allcock, who finished 4th in the CA in strikeouts with 167 in 1960, and punished it. The result was his 20th home run of the season, which put the Cougars on top, 3-2.
"Winning never gets dull," said Gibson.
