Berry Good, But Not Good Enough, in 11-9 Loss
The Chicago Cougars weathered an outstanding game by Cincinnati center fielder Dallas Berry to topple the Cannons, 11-9. Berry was 3-4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. Phil Means picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Hal Adams suffered the loss. At 4-1, the Cougars have played well so far.

Henry Watson hit a 2-run triple off Paul Williams in the top of the eighth, which put the Cougars in front, 11-9. Watson had 3 singles, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 4 for 5.

"We got the victory," said Watson. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
