Saints Stumble, Lose to Imperials
Montreal got a terrific game from center fielder Don Whited. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to New York, 8-4. Whited went 2 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. The win gives the Imperials a record of 27-54.

One of the key players for the Imperials was pitcher Frank Williams, who drilled a 2-run single in the top of the second inning. For the game, Williams came in in relief and pitched to 18 batters.

"I know we have our doubters," said Montreal manager Johnny Gilbert. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
