Gene Faulkenberry, who is tied for 10th in the CA with a 3.13 ERA, pitched well, but the Montreal Saints still fell short, losing, 4-3, to the Chicago Cougars at Stade Montreal. Dick Champ, the winner, improved to 4-8. He held the Saints to 3 runs on 4 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 2. The save was credited to Pug White, his 11th.
Jerry McMillan, who finished 4th in the CA in stolen bases with 21 in 1959, had a direct impact on the outcome. McMillan contributed a solo home run in the top of the third inning to put Chicago up, 4-0.
McMillan called the win "a team effort."
