Berry Powers Cannons to 7-5 Win | The Cincinnati Cannons downed the Dallas Wranglers, 7-5, at Norris Stadium. Dallas Berry led the way, going 2-for-3 for Cincinnati. Charlie Warren earned the win, while 38-year old right-handed pitcher Sid Moulton took the loss for Dallas. Paul Williams picked up the save for Cincinnati, his 1st of the year.
Berry contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Cincinnati in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, Berry took a fastball from Sid Moulton and stroked the home run to left-center. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Cannons to leap in front, 3-2.
"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Berry. "You've got to get results."
The loss drops the Wranglers to 1-1. | |
