Masters Shines in 6-3 Boston Win
Due in large part to right fielder Rick Masters, the Boston Minutemen sunk the St. Louis Pioneers, 6-3. Masters was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Boston reliever Merton Myers picked up the win. Bill Kline, who is tied for 10th in the FA in strikeouts with 67, took the loss for St. Louis. The win makes Boston 43-53.

Masters had a game-changing double in the top of the ninth. On a 1-0 sinker from Lee Richardson, he banged a 2-run double to left, giving the Minutemen a 5-3 lead. It was the 8th double of the year for Masters.

Masters attributed the win to his team's "tenacity."
