Alvardo Lifts Eagles to 12-3 Triumph
The Washington Eagles clobbered the Philadelphia Keystones, 12-3, at Columbia Stadium. Washington left fielder Jesse Alvardo led the onslaught. He slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 9 runs and scored twice. The defeat makes Philadelphia 37-57.

With Washington leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Alvardo hit a fastball from Bill Sohl for a 3-run home run. It was his 14th home run of the season and put the Eagles ahead, 4-0.

"I have nothing to complain about," said winning manager Pete Molyneaux after the game.
