Saints Get Clutch Win Versus Chicago
The Montreal Saints banked on Phil Murry and he turned in a masterful performance. The left-hander kept the Chicago hitters in check. The final score was 2-1, Saints. Hank Myer picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-2. Bob Allen, who led the FA in saves with 20 in 1959, was tagged with the loss. The Saints, at 33-45, have now won 4 straight.

Montreal got a knockout punch from Bob Vernon. The second baseman hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
