Boston got a strong outing from Ray Gonyea as the Minutemen defeated the New York Gothams, 9-1, at Gotham Stadium. Gonyea, who is tied for 7th in the FA in strikeouts with 150, went the distance for Boston. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits. The Minutemen saw their record improve to 72-81.

Boston won the game in part because of Joe Kleman. The shortstop ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Minutemen ahead, 2-0. For the game, Kleman had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
