The Boston Minutemen defeated the Philadelphia Keystones, 6-5, at Minuteman Stadium. Boston was led by seven-time All-Star Joe Kleman, who was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. George Kollock, who finished 3rd in the FA in saves with 22 in 1961, was the winning pitcher. Over 6.2 innings, he allowed 5 runs on 8 hits, with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. Dee Britton closed it out for Boston, earning his 1st save.
