Minneapolis had no answer for St. Louis Pioneers hurler Frenchy Mack, who overwhelmed Millers hitters as the Pioneers coasted to victory, 8-1. The first-place Pioneers, at 92-52, lead the Federal Association by 2 games.

Mack imposed his will on the Millers, scattering 5 hits over 9 innings while striking out 10. The left-hander upped his season record to 23-5.

"When I throw strikes I'm good, if I don't I'm not very good," said Mack. "So I just have to throw strikes."
