Suns Fall Short, 2-1, at Chicago | The Chicago Chiefs scored a tight, 2-1 win versus the Los Angeles Suns at Whitney Park. Chicago pitcher Dode Hogan held his own in the contest. Dutch Lane notched his 8th save in 11 chances. With the win, Chicago pushed its record to 42-29.
Had Bob Starr not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Starr hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Chiefs.
"My job is to go out and execute," said Hogan. | |
