A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Detroit Dynamos and Los Angeles Suns.

Thanks in large part to first baseman Joe Holland, the Detroit Dynamos beat the Los Angeles Suns, 8-2. Holland went 2 for 5 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Picking up the win was Paul Anderson. He went 8 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits. The left--hander struck out 3 and walked 2.

With Detroit leading 3-1 in the top of the fifth, Holland hit a slider from Frank Carey for a 2-run home run. It was his 21st home run of the season and put the Dynamos ahead, 5-1.

"We didn't put up much resistance," said losing manager Bill Morrill.

Detroit has won 3 straight, while Los Angeles has lost 4 in a row.
