| Suns Lose Late, 9-2 | Dick Tucker was a vital contributor to the 9-2 Detroit victory over Los Angeles. The Dynamos second baseman went 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Detroit reliever Bill Follis picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Jim Foster absorbed the loss. Detroit, now 46-22, holds down second place in the Federal Association.
Detroit used a timely hit from Ray Waggoner to get the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Dynamos ahead, 3-2. It might've been his only hit, but it did the trick.
"I wish every win came this easy," said Tucker.
